Powdered Eggnog Instant Mix (Easy Recipe) (2024)

I thought it would be fun to post some Holiday recipes here for the next few weeks. I’ll start with one of my husband’s favorites: egg nog. I’m not a huge fan of egg nog, so I will need you all to try this, and let me know what you think. It was pretty simple and smelled great!

Easy EggNog Recipe

Egg Nog with Powdered Eggs

Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups [url
  • instant milk powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • small pinch of ground clove
  • 6 Tbsp. whole egg powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (or 1/2 cup honey crystals)

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients well in a blender for 1-2 minutes. (No need to cook since the eggs are not raw.) Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon when ready to serve!

Now you can have egg nog any time of the year! Yay!

Note: The first time I made this, I cooked it, since that is what you do with most eggnog recipes. Then, a friend, Nancy Barter tried it without cooking it, and it is better that way. Since the eggs are pre-cooked, it is perfectly safe! I’d like to have this eggnog on a winter night with my DIY Space Heater. Thanks for the tips, Nancy!

  3. You can get just “powdered egg yolk” for a richer taste on Amazon. Which should be good for French toast too.
    Anyone getting hungry? Think! A little butter and maple syrup on French toast.
    If you can find a health good store you might be able to find whole Jersey milk which is much richer than store bought. There’s more fat, but it’s also higher in protein. Then it’s natural.

    • Yes Kaly, that should work fine, though it likely won’t taste quite as good. Both are 100% milk, but the powdered is processed differently so it doesn’t taste as much like fresh milk. (-:

  7. Have you ever tried this with the scrambled egg mix? That is all I have and wondered why it wouldn’t work as a substitution. I will try it and let you know how it turns out. Also would you have to heat it up since the eggs aren’t raw? Or is that what thickens it up?

    • How did it go Vicki? I would think it would work even better with the scrambled eggs since they taste so much more like fresh eggs. And yes, it does thicken a bit while cooking, but I suppose you could try it without. I know another consultant just blended it in a blender with a lot of success. (-:

  8. I wanted to thank you for this recipe. When I was a kid, we made eggnog with fresh eggs all the time, but now with food safety concerns, I do not make it for my kids. I am going to try this recipe, as the powdered egg and milk don’t support the microorganisms that are in fresh eggs and milk.
